I've downloaded a film that comes in 2 parts, when i convert them through,
Avi Divx To DVD SVCD VCD Converter,so that i can put it through dvd shrink, how can i make dvd shrink connect both of them together to make the film into 1 dvd.
Or do i have to have 2 seperate disc?

DVD Shrink cannot do that.

You need to merge the files first then you can convert it to DVD.

VirtualDubMod is a good tool for joining your downloaded 2 part avi's

video should be set to 'direct stream copy' (i thiink it is by default)
File > open video file
Append segment
Save as

{if it asks to change audio header choose no)

VirtualDubMod is freeware andcan be downloaded here

Hopefully both pieces are the same bitrate. I have gone mad with 2 videos from the same source, but different bitrates. I was unable to merge them! Bah!

You could do it with Windows Movie Maker. lol I know that's not the best program out there but if all else fails.

i usually encode or transcode(don't know the proper term) them seperately then author them in dvd lab so that one movie plays right after the other without returning to menu although you might have problems manually skipping chapters.

Different audio bitrates make it a pain to join the avi's but joining them makes for smooth playback espically when the end of cd1 is repeated on cd2.

Try usinbg mp3_freeze if you get the audioskew warning with virtualdub, that way you'll be able to join them in about 2 mins:
