I bought Linkin Park - Meteora, Godsmack - Faceless, and Ra - From One. I still appreciate music, and I still buy CDs. Filesharing is a hobby for me, mainly I'm looking for new stuff, or rare live stuff. The price of CDs isn't as bad as people seem to think it is. ;)

I agree. Beer money is very important to me. I was just pointing out that I do buy music, quite a bit in fact, but I share lots more. :)

Album: Things Fall Apart - The Roots

When: About 2 and a 1/2 hours ago.

I had got a downloaded copy but had to have it in "The Collection". Very pleased with my purchase :D .

I haven't got a lot of time for people that only download and don't purchase music - they're the ultimate leechers. Shame on them!!

Artist: Pete Yorn

Album: Day I Forgot

When: Day I forgot

No, that is not a mistake - 'Day I Forgot' is the name of his latest CD, and I don't remeber the day I bought it. :P

Hey Infested Cats-

Any chance of you sharing "Wendy Carlos's Clockwork Orange" with a fellow feline? ;)

If so, I know where to find you.

Thanks,

I tend to buy my CDs in pairs or threes. ;) So it'd be Spirit of the West's Weights and Measures, Two Headed, and Save This House, I believe. Two weeks ago, at any rate.

I agree,it seems here in England we get a tough deal and seem to get over charged in alot of areas.Mainly music.

Last cd i bought was a pack of 25 blanks to burn my music off. :o   B)

I buy alot from second hand music shops, independent shops not the big mainstream outlets as they suck.

Last cd i bought was XL RecordingsCD The Third Chapter from my local record shop. :D

if u live in austrralia like myself its $30 for an album and $10 for a single :o !!!! so beat that!!! that is expensive!!!!

and the last album I bought was back in december 2001 Def Leppard Greatest Hits

Last album I bought was Turbonegro - Scandinavian leather (see my avatar :P ). I usually buy my albums, it`s nice to have the original instead of a crappy cd-collection of cd-rs. But of course I burn albums as well when I`m so god damn broke, like now. ;)
Wish there was more high quality, full albums on kazaa though... <_<

At the current exchange rate a $30 Aust. CD works out at only £12 and change. An £18 Cd in the UK would cost you nearly $45 - that IS expensive. I think the whole of the UK has you beat Adthomp!! :P  They must be more expensive elsewhere in the world surely??

Worked the exchange rate out from The Financial Times. Quite simple really!! ;)

CD pricing is a bad joke in the UK. Are we, as a nation, the most expensive when it comes to buying music???

yeah, i hate the fact there isnt that many good shops in the uk to get decent cds from, and in the end you have to resort to ordering them from america or somewhere and then get whacked with a huge shipping charge.

bah, humbug......

This week I bought several cd's. Johnny Lang (Lie to Me), Stevie Ray Vaughan (The Essential), The Vaughan Brothers (Family Style) and Eric Clapton (Unplugged).

Hadn't bought many cd's over the last few years....expense vs priorities.

Started buying again recently, time is right for me to build up my collection.

I want to rebuild my "shared folder" with high quality mp3's. The difference between the 128 kps CBR and the 192 VBR kps is amazing to me. I love the richer sound, but it means having to rip all my stuff again. Worth the effort though!

The record companies are crying over spilt milk in the u.k. If the people of this septic isle who have p.c's couldn't download music we would simply buy them on-line from sites like play.com. The British music industry companys still wouldn't see our hard earned.
Also, i don't see any established bands starving.
A friend of mine is a struggling artist and he thanked me profusely for putting his music on kazaalite
jugband boy in case you're interested, best song "here i come down".

last cd's i bought was last weekend,

Iron Maiden - Iron Maiden

and

Killswitch Engage - Alive Or Just Breathing

both of these id downloaded before cos i dont see the point in spending £12 upwards on a cd if its gonna be shite, so most of the time i use mp3's as a "try before you buy" kind of thing.
I'd definately agree that cd's are too damn expensive these days and it seems to be getting worse, at the end of they day they'll have to realise that all they're doing by making cd's too pricey is causing people to d/l the mp3's or find a pirate copy.

next album i hope to buy is,

alkaline trio - Good Mourning

Gotta say I'm one of those who don't buy CDs anymore unless it's rare stuff.

Since I have limited funds (my boss does have a portrait of Scrooge on his office wall!) - If I'm gonna buy stuff, I prefer to spend what I do have on DVDs if (1) a film is worth it and (2) it's either rare/deleted or only crappy copies available on Kazaa.

I still use Amazon Marketplace or eBay tho' rather than buying new.

But us Yorkshire folk aren't known for splashing out :D

The last music I bought; records at a new/used record shop.

Sly Stone, San Francisco 1964-67
Louis Armstrong & King Oliver (brand new)
Subramaniam, blossom
Jimmy Smith, It's Necessary (brand new)
Peter Tosh, Legalize It (brand new)
John Coltrane, gave it away, can't remember the title (brand new)
Miles Davis, also gave it away, I think was Live in Central Park, it's was bright orange. (brand new)

I got a discount on all of them, something like eight bucks a record, including the ones still wrapped in plastic. This place had thousands of records, tens of thousands.
