I started this topic so people can share what their favorite book series is.
Mine would definately have to be:
The Tom Clancy Ryanverse Series.
http://www.clancyfaq.com/ryanverse.htm
Except for two books in the series (Cardinal of the Kremlin, and Red Rabbit), each book is packed with action, politics, and espionage.
I would definately recommend these books to anyone who hasn't read them.
What is your favorite series?

It seems that the only series that I've ever read are fantasy ones. I really liked all of the series of David Eddings (The Belgariad, The Tamuli etc.) and Dave Duncan's "Kings Blade's" series.
The ones that I did not like were LOTR, and especially Robert Jordan's "Wheel of Time" series. I swear to god that Jordan is on a paid-per-word contract or something.

Too many to pick. LOTR? Wheel of Time? Enders Game? Dragonlance? Riftwar series? Dune?
I would have to say the Dune series, Wheel of Time, and Enders Game series have a tree way tie.

Good question.
I think probably Asimov's "Foundation" series would be my all-time favourite.
I loved them also, but I would have to go with H2G2.
Oh and chaps who have listed 4 or 5, come on, plump for one. I also loved the Ender ones and Dune and Thomas Covenant and LOTR and Discworld and the Lensmen.
However the point is you need to pick one like.

The Gap Series - Stephen Donaldson
Discworld novels -Terry Pratchett
James Herbert's Rats and sequels
Stephen King's Dark Tower novels

Several of the ones mentioned already are great.
The Foundation series especially.
But another couple of good ones are:
The Malazan Book of the Fallen by Stephen Erikson and Richard Morgan's books about Takeshi Kovacs, ie Altered Carbon, Broken Angels and Woken Furies.

I'll second that about Erikson's series and the Takeshi Kovacs books.
The Foundation, though - having re-read it a while ago, after remembering it very fondly from having read it during my teenage years, I was pretty disappointed. The writing is pretty simplistic, and a lot of things I used to find clever just seem silly.

My fav. are Honor Harrington series by David Weber, Baen Books and The Sword of Truth series by Terry Goodkind.....
It seems quite a few ppl like LOTR and Riftwar saga series... but i didnt much like them...'cause LOTR is too slow....and Riftwar Saga is tooo fast and devoid of real human feelings - i seriously never could like any of the characters that much to hold them in my heart....
