I have an ASUS K8N-E Deulux motherboard with a geforece 6800 ultra. The last high spec games I played were Battle For Middle Earth II, Hitman 4 and Splinter Cell 3...All which ran perfectly at the resolution I run them, 1024X768

However, just to keep up and be ready, should I upgrade to a PCI-E Motherboard, or wait for the wave of DX10 cards to come out and see what other port technology might come with it?

If you want to upgrade your Motherboard then upgrade it to PCI-E coz DX10 cards will be PCI-E
but if you want to upgrade your gfx card you should wait for DX10 Cards.

If your computer is running what you want perfectly for now then stay with that.

When the time comes... Update!

i vote upgrade ur rig, but don't do so 'til Q1 07. i do agree with Gam3Guy. i have a 6800gt and it plays games decently. i do want pci-e also, but am going to wait for the first maybe second gen dx10 cards.

No games have run badly for me, but then again I do play with AA and AF off at 1024X768

i run @ same rez and i DO run with aa and af on also. game that hurts me the most, so far, is oblivion. in the forest fighting like 3 creatures has brought me down to 30 or maybe lower fps at one time i believe. that kinda pissed me off so i quit playing it. lol.

Oblivion runs alright on my PC at 1042X768 and x4 AA. It slows down when theres more than 4-5 people though...ALOT. Need more ram..because the sound goes all fucked when this happens.

I dontp play oblivion anymore though...it got kinda pointless lol.
