My broadband connection speed is 256kbs
However, when I download a file fron internet, my download speed is around 30kbs.
Can someone explain, why the download speed is about 30 whereas the connection speed is 256?
Thanks

One is kilobytes and the other is kilobits
256 kbps connection
= approx 32kBps download
you need to divide by 8 to get from kb to kB

also cuz torrents are umm SLOW..... more seeds/less leechers = faster speed. lol check the "mathematical theory" thread in the lounge, hes a genius.

he didn't say anything about torrents and the transfer from kbps to kBps has nothing to do with seeds and leechers

How much do you pay for it?
I started with 256 kbps but the speed has been upgraded last few years with no extra costs to 1.200 kbps.

Also keep in mind that traffic in one direction also uses some (about 4-5% for large pakcets/files. more for smaller packets) bandwidth in the other direction.
