If you know any other good films like those mentioned above from the U.K. along the lines of comedy or drama/ thriller, etc with comedic moments(I know Trainspotting wasn't supposed to be a comedy but it had plenty of funny moments) please name them. I've Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels as well as Eat The Rich if anyone was going to mention those.

lock stock had some funny moments. Monty Python films, they're great, well worth checking them out. Best ones are The Life Of Brian, The Holy Grail and The Meaning of Life

Hey thanks for that Life of Brian mention. david Icke mentioned that in a lecture. Have any of you seen Twin Town? I read a good review of it at imdb.com. I'll check out reviews of what you've all mentioned thus far.

I couldnt get in to Twin town my self and switched it off after 20 mins

The acid house, Irvine Welsh (trainspotting, Shallow Grave ), a black comedy, very very funny

Sexy Beast (Ray Winston)

Gangster No1 (weird and trippy)

Saving Grace (Mild comedy about drugs)

Chopper is an pukka ossie crim flick based on Mark Brandon 'Chopper' Read. Well worth a look

for those of you who've mentioned the italian job are you talking about some earlier english cast version? because with all the americans and charlize theron that doesn't really count as a british film.

that is indeed willy wonkas quote towards the end and that indeed isn't a britsh film lol. american cast = american movie.

I've seen eat the rich, trainspotting, snatch, lock stock, acid house, human traffic, mean machine and am about to get 24 hour party people which i guess is either terible or sucks because no one has mentioned it. If it doesn't have britsh, scotish, irish, welsh, etc people in it speaking and acting the way they do with "wankers, prats, bollocks" etc in it it aint british.

Gene Wilder is American and the little boy who gives the factory to sounded american. Unless he and more than half the major characters and supporting cast are British it's an American film. those oompaloompas certainly sound british don't they? How's a movie going to be British when the main character isn't even British? and in comparison the guy who played turkish in snatch jason stratham or some shit like that was the lead actor in the "transporter" but that isn't a british film. And to my recollection Willy wonka aint either. :P
