So it's exactly the same as the Black Royale and Black Ice theme... Just with an Orange start button...

What's more funny is that it was actually "news" from M$.

Hmmm...Yes, will stick to WindowsBlinds. Some reason I just really don't like this theme.

It took years for FST to come up with a black skin too.:dry:Ya but microsoft is a huge multi-billion dollar company with, probably, hundreds of graphic artists/designers.
I am only one man and noone else has volunteered.

Whats even better is it's not compatible with Vista nor can I uninstall the fricking thing . :pinch:

Why would it (and why would you) want it to be compatible with Vista? Are you talking about the Zune Theme, or the Zune itself?

You can't uninstall it? What happens when you try to uninstall?

I copied the theme and msstyle to a separate folder and used the uninstall to remove it from add/remove programs and then added it back to my themes folder. No problems there.

I upgraded over XP with Vista RTM and can't remove Zune theme thru add remove . A box comes up saying this program requires Win XP sp1 or higher ! I just thought it was funny as I then read that Zune the player was n't compatible with Vista either .

I must just have a weird sense of humour or just like the irony of it all .

:O Didn't your mother teach you never to 'upgrade', always do a fresh install.

oh, I see now. You're not on XP anymore. I wouldn't even know what to do there. Well, you could delete it from the folder C:\windows\resources\themes

and use regcleaner (don't know if it's compatible with vista) and remove the entry from add/remove programs.

Oh I know I was just trying Vista for shits and giggles , on a separate computer that will be formatted and reinstalled with XP . I built a computer from spare parts for my youngest so thought I'd try it out .

I did get a 3.5 rating on the system specs ,so he can ran it later if and when a crack is found . ;)

@backlash , I like your thinking . :)

:) That's what I did. I saved the files and then uninstalled and added them back.

ive read somewhere that this still looks as playmobil in black (the original blue luna theme is playmobil itself). with a touch of the worst possible shade of orange.

also, seeing vista i had to switch back to windows classic; just had to realize that all the XP themes are really-really awful.

Arn't they? There's a XP to Vista thread on how to theme your desktop. Mostly workin' with WindowsBlinds, but there are some really good M$Styles, too.

thanks for the idea, but unfortunately i dont have money for windowsblinds (and dont feel like pirating it). another alternative is linux: beryl is really-really cool.

you don't have to buy any software to use visual styles unless you want styles made for windowblinds.

http://www.softpedia.com/get/Desktop-Enhancements/Themes/UXTheme-Patch-For-Windows-XP-SP2-Final.shtml

Just download the above patch and run it to patch your theme file that will allow unsigned themes to show up in display properties.
