is is possible to get a piece of software that will automatically delete selected files if you don't enter the correct password. for example, say i had a folder with some illegal music in it. could i put a password on that folder with a program and then if someone comes along and puts in the wrong password, the files are deleted ans scrubbed from the hard drive?
i've seen it in the movies, it may be a bit far fetched for real life, but it'd be cool to have such a program.
any help would be great, thanks

i doubt it...

i dont understand why ud want a feature. It'll be too frustrating if u enter the password in wrongly by typo and all your files end up deleted.

it's an intriguing prospect though.
i don't think many would be silly enough to type in their password wrong.
i'm just curious to know if such a program exists.

it would be possible, but the idea is too far fetched and would not be a 100% copy of what you would see in films. Why would you want to password protect music files? chances of being caught are very slim

it's not really to escape arrest or anything, it's more out of curiosity.
and if authorities really wanted to catch all people who fileshare, it's not really too hard.

youre right that its not too hard, but it would be very costly so it would likely never happen :)
