....especially if it's not cracked?

1. Home Basic

2. Home Premium

3. Business

4. Ultimate

I'm leaning toward the Home Premium.

Yeah I'll be buying eventually. I'll want a copy that I can migrate to other computers.

The OEM copies die with the computer it came with.

As someone said before, one can at least buy their OS.

That was me/VB. I've always bought my OS's.

As far OEM dying with the PC - It doesn't have to. I bought an OEM version of XP Home a couple months ago and just created a slipstream disc.

It's worth every bit of effort. :yup:

I'll give you 100/1 odds (in your favor) that'll be cracked in less than 4yrs from general release &
50/1 less than 3yrs from general release
10/1 less than 2yrs from general release
2/1 less than 1yr from general release

I'm not buying it either (unless it comes with a future laptop purchase) but I am currently using the Ultimate edition on my desktop which with the workround will last me until late January, by then it'll be cracked fully.

If Bill charged a reasonable amount for it and it was bug proof instead of being a piece of crap that needs patching every few weeks, then I would buy it.
Not before.
