My 17" Philips 107B goes right up to 1920x1440 and it's capable of 160Hz at 1024x768. It kicks ass.

i've just got a standard 17" crappy monitor. it does ok, but the maximum res is 1280x1024 :(

Unless you're doing Graphic design or gaming, I think that anyhting more than 1280x960 is overkill.
Then again, Quake running in 1600x1200 is rather impressive-looking...
I've got a 17" pile of pants. But does the job for now.

Ive just realised I still use a 15" CRT, only capable of res up to 1024x768.
Had the same one for years, only upgrade the base unit.

Sylvania F89 (19in.) at 1280x960. Highest res is 1600x1200.
It's not one of the more expensive ones, but I've had two Viewsonics and a Sony go bad on me. <_<
Never had one single problem with this monitor.
Yet.
Hewlett Packard HP70 17"
Highest res veiwable is 1024x768 @ 85hertz, the res goes higher but the screen goes funny.
I bought this secondhand for £80, was i ripped off cos i know you can buy new monitors now for the same price.

if its wide screen then why are you running 1024x768? isn't everything deformed? you should be running somthing like 1280x720. it should look much better then 1024x768. and with that big of a moniter why such a small resolution. you could even go up to 1600x900 or 1360x768. there all widescreen configs.
