Counter-Strike Source without Steam?

I got a real CD-key and stuff for CS: Source, but want to run the game without Steam. I know this was possible before, through the EMPORiO release with updates, though, is this still possible? Is there updates that let you play the game online on valid Steam servers without actually running Steam? (Not asking for links or anything, just if it's possible)
