Shane Kim, corporate vice president at Microsoft Game Studios, declares, "From the very beginning, we knew Gears of War would be an industry-defining hit. As we watched both the game and its hype grow, it became obvious that Gears of War was the rare title that could live up to such incredible anticipation, and judging from the reaction of critics and fans, it's done just that."
Apparently, the Gears of War effect is not only limited to revenues and copies sold. Microsoft estimates that the game also generated up to 50% more Gold subscriptions on Xbox Live, with more than 850,000 players having logged in by now to play. Additionally, Xbox Live reported more than 10 million gameplay sessions only for Gears of War, during which about 7 million achievement points were unlocked.

I liked the trailers at IGN but are humans that big? they're massive - little giant people. Though my first choice will still be Halo.
