View Full Version : Well Done Bro

Lamsey got 92% for his Advanced Higher Computing Project. That's 40% towards the final Grade.

For the hard of thinking that (as I understand it) is sort of A Level +

Seriously, well done wee bro. Good to see one of the guys doing well.

Good Lad

Now if we could only get you two to stop cursing so much everything would be okay.

Martha will be proud of you both

Can I curse en Francais, s'il vous plait?

Lamsey

I like the Guiness smilie!

Actually no I don't... that stuff's boggin' - gimme a good dram of the MacAllan any day!

I got 73% for my AH maths prelim, so I only just scraped an A there... (cutoff for 'A' grade is 70%)

It's really relaxing this year, because there's no real pressure. I've already been accepted for uni so it doesn't matter how well I do in these exams. That being said, I'm still working for the grades - don't want to end up with a couple of Cs and a module after a year!

Well done Lamsey, time to chill out a bit now!!!

I got an A for Higher Music playing the drums. I now play the guitar instead, seeing as I'm not allowed a drumkit in my flat (bit antisocial towards the neighbours).

@ Proper Bo: vas-tu au futre, putain!

Interesting note: the Glaswegian word 'footer' (meaning 'fidget with') comes from the French word 'futre'.

Well done Lamsey, time to chill out a bit now!!!
Not quite... my AH Maths final exam is on the 21st (same day as a certain match... what a :swear: ) and the final exam for AH Computing is the next day, the 22nd.

Yeah - I'm doing the MEng though so will I be in the same classes as you (I assume you're doing BSc)?

I could have gotten into the MEng after 5th year too but I didn't want to rush into things... That and I need to save up!

im following the honors course, however im having a change of heart, im not sure if i want to be at a computer for the rest of my life.....its fine for a past time, but constant programmings not appealing to me. Im thinking of changing to the Bsc pass degree and doing a postgrad in teaching, so I can teach high school computing or something...

when you start you'll never be off this.... http://www.cis.strath.ac.uk

ps, yeah you will be in the same classes, the only difference between the masters and honors - masters incorperates an extra year and a project lol....

you sound like a clever cookie too, what's the rest of your exam results?

the computers they have at the uni are pretty dire, there are 3 pentium 4's in the whole of the computing department and the ones the students use are p2 300mhz :(

i'm not doing computing though, it's an msci in pure and applied chem for me :(

hope you get on well at uni, and be prepared to do a lot of hard work.

p.s. i probably shouldn't be on here, i've got a maths test in 10 hours
lol

Yeah, that's what they told you, student boy.

Strathclyde degrees are more sought after than degrees from The University.

The fact that you believe that illustrates why you are attending a technical college.

Some people can have a laugh.

Others are just cretins.

You are in one of those groups. Which one do you think it is.

Cool, feel encouraged now :)

I know this was a long time (and a lot of spam) ago, but amphoteric asked:
what's the rest of your exam results?
As requested:

Standard Grades: (4th year)
English_____1
Maths______1
Physics_____1
Geography__1
Computing__1
Music______1
French_____un
Spanish____uno

Highers: (5th year)
English_____B :(
Maths______A
Computing__A
Music______A
Spanish____A

This year I'm doing Adv. Higher Maths and Adv. Higher Computing. I also passed a Higher module in Music in MIDI sequencing.

I was really racked off about that B for English, it was actually my strongest subject. Oh well...

B for English.

Did you do a lot of swearing in your paper.

:swear: ing :swear:

I did a bit actually - I was writing about Way To Go by Alan Spence, and many of the memorable quotes unfortunately involve :swear: words.

You know, ever since I made the :swear: smilie, I think that the person who's used it the most is JPaul - mostly to slag me for it...

Thanks for the publicity

English_____B :( <_<

/WeeMouse smacks Lamsey's head

What's wrong with a B?

I got a C ( I know you knew that Lamsey) but Mice do not need English to carry out their purpose in life! :P

Hey - you wrote about way to go? I did Romeo and Juliet...I think I was the only one...

congrats Lamsie-baby, we're all very proud of you!! Hope you do as well next year at uni!!

nice anekdote: last year was my final year in higschool, and I studied a wee bit more than I usually did for my exams, so as the only one of my class, I graduated Cum Laude (average of 75% or more that is over here). The day I actually GOT my diploma, I found out they don't even mention that!!!! I was really really pissed about that

so, my tip for the future: Study economically

I studied economically, untill I found out that it wasn't actually a subject. That was a waste of time.

i have an A in each class except english. My teacher has very confusing ways to lower all of our grades. i can do a perfect paper, he'll even comment on it as "excellent paper" "but needs work". when i asked him for some constructive criticism about it, he said he didn't have the time. what an asshole.

That's a bit harsh.

Your teacher shouldn't call you an asshole.
