Smoking sucks, too, Nik.

You're opting for the lesser of two, uh.....sucking things.

Good luck; we're pulling for you. :)

No, smoking doesn't suck. Smoking is wonderful. Not smoking is horrible.

What I don't get is how the hell Jon is doing fine with it, and yet he has smoked longer than me.

It was the same when cheese and I gave up last year for a spell. He coped far better than I did. It's either that women get more addicted, or because coping with men without the safety net of nicotene is harder!

The patches really helped with the cravings though. Good luck hon!

you could search torrent sites for "McKenna" or "smoking" and try one of those hypnosis auido things.. that's what I would do if I was giving up smoking :smilie4:

I tried cigs two different times in the same alley in DC when I was 13 and thought they tasted shit.

The young and stupid makes sense cuz uhhh...why would I try something nasty like that...twice?:idunno:

It was about 7 or 8 of us taking puffs, coughing and blowing smoke out our nose.

I think cigarettes are like diet soda.

You have to want it initially just cuz of other reasons besides taste. Everyone I asked has told me that they hated diet soda when they first started drinking it.

I really don't understand addiction to anything. In a way I wish I could.

I'm not addicted to alcohol yet will drink it to get toasted. I love twat yet can forego it indefinitely (I think  ).

Hooray for thread necromancy!

I quit about 2 1/2 weeks ago (~Pack a day for 9 years) and am using the patch to get by. I feel that it is in all essences cheating since your still consuming nicotine and therefore still addicted; at least it lets a person beat the habit first and then move on to the addiction itself later.

What is it like to be addicted?
It is the constant feeling of never being completely in control of your life, and feeling powerless to change it. Basically, it totally sucks donkey chode.
