I have been using DVDSanta for quite sometime. It works great converting AVI/Divx/Mpeg to DVD format, but it is slow as hell. Is there a program that can provide the quality, but can convert clips quicker? I have seen people recomend Alcohol and IMGburn, but are they any faster converting? Thanks!

Try WinAVIVideoConverter or a more powerful PC.

Thanks for the suggestion. As far as the PC goes... I am running...

Pentium D 940 DuoCore (3.2 GHz, 800FSB)
2 Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAMM at 533MHz X2
256MB nVidia GeForce 7900GS
500 GB Serial ATA 3Gb/s Hard Drive
Sound Blaster X-Fi 5.1 Xtreme Music Sound Card
Double Layer 16X TSST DVD+/-RW DVD Drive

Still think it is my PC? LOL

Never tried it but you could also try out Nero Recode.

How slow is "slow as hell"? Can you give us a time figure?

I used it the other day and it was a little over an hour. If I remember correctly.

well it doesn't take an hour. I assumed that there was a program that could convert files a little faster. After reading up on this, even the program you suggested boasts the converting and buring in 1 hour. I can usually convert and burn a DVD in about 30 minutes. I guess that is not that bad compared to the time it takes some programs. I never get errors and the DVDs always work on my DVD players.

I guess I will stay loyal to DVDSanta for now.

Thanks for your help!:D

vso convertxtodvd is a great program. I like it alot better than the other options out there, and I've tried almost all of them. give it a try.

I agree. It's a great program too but WinAVI is faster. That's what SHUVT says is his priority.

I think convertxtodvd produces better results. :)

I will have to check out convertx this week. Thanks again for your suggestions. I am just trying to balance quality with speed. Sometimes they don't seem to be available together. DVDsanta is very reliable, just trying to see if there was something a tad quicker without sacraficing quality.
