And, more importantly, will he be going home to a hero's welcome tonight?

It's an advert for Guiness or something!

a guy's playing shinty (i think) and he gets a penalty. If he gets the penalty, his team wins! the commentators start saying "What must be going through this young man's head? Will he be going home to a hero's welcome tonight!" (all said in an Irish accent). The advert finishes with a close up of the guys stick connecting perfectly with the ball, but you don't get to see if he scores..

:) Good advert!.

Umm... OK sorry about this. I was a little intoxicated last night and I'd forgotten I'd made this rather stupid post (made at 4 am). :"> We'd been talking about this advert all night.

WeeMouse you got it B) , but I do genuinely want to know if the guy scored. But why I thought I might find the answer on the K-Lite Board is beyond me!

God knows how anyone got Dawson's Creek out of that!

edit: I also did another rather stupid thing (http://www.klboard.ath.cx/bb/index.php?act=ST&f=30&t=34272), if anyone could help me with that I would love you forever!

Guinness Ad (http://www.guinness.com/guinness/en_GB/seeing/ads/0,6436,125495_125875,00.html) - I think it's the one called Free In - 2002

Although I may be wrong and Skillian was a crack-heid after all... :P

I think you'll find it was hurling, not shinty. Given that it was Irish.

A young man stands in a hurling match, about to take the last strike, which could win it or lose it for the team. The scar on his face enforces his hard manly status and the opposition look similar to the pig men from The lord of the rings emphasising the enormity that he is up against. His situation frequently cuts to what would be in store for him if he were to win: lifted up by the crowd, a beautiful girl’s kiss, celebration with mates but most importantly, a glass of Guiness. As the man is about to strike the ball, it cuts to the word ‘Believe’. This commercial encompasses the established man’s man image as it is all about strength, skill, guts, success and having a strong self esteem
