I AM TRYING TO DECIDE ON A NEW ANTIVIRUS/FIREWALL PROGRAM, BUT I HAVE NO EXPIRIENCE WITH ANY RECENT PROGS BESIDES BULLGUARD AND AM LOOKING FOR OTHERS TO SUBMIT THEIR KNOWLEDGE ON WHAT THE BEST ONE IS.
THANK YOU.

Start by removing "CAPS"...symbolizes yelling. I personally use Kaspersky (http://www.kaspersky.com/). Several others use AVG (http://www.grisoft.com/html/us_index.htm?session=c78a2add9ea4c03c7100c76cf967275b) free software. Others like Norton AV known as a resource hogger, but effective.

I use Norton Internet Security. It is AntiVirus and Firewall in one. I'm satisfied with it. It serves me well. Use Kazaa to get it.

IS NORTON INTERNET SECURITY ONE OF THOSE TRIALWARE PROGS? I HATE THOSE THINGS, BUT I WILL GIVE THEM ALL A SHOT TO SEE HOW THEY WORK, UNLESS YOU CAN THINK OF BAD THINGS ABOUT OTHER PROGS THAT I SHOULD WATCH OUT FOR.

ALSO WHAT IS YOUR OPINION ON BULLGUARD?

i use NAV and i just don't get why people call it a resource hog, maybe they have the heuristics turned on max
but anyway it seems effective to me but i always have this itchy feeling on the back of my neck that its not picking up alot of viruses

i've heard that Kaspersky catches everything but i haven't tried it. i've also heard that it's a bit backward programming wise, with dodgy uninstall

Firewall-wise - ATM i think there's a argument over which is best = Sygate, ZoneAlarm, and BlackIce. Since no ones complained about Norton Firewall i'm assuming that its quite good

I have been using, AVG by Grisoft (free) And sygate fire wall (free) and it's very good.
It's been very good at all tasks 100%

For anti-virus i would get Trend Micro Pc-cillin 2003 if not that get Symantec Norton Anti-virus 2003. For a firewall get BlackIce or Norton Personal Firewall 2003. Also the Pc-cillin 2003 comes with its own firewall too.

what u want is symantec antivirus corporate edition 8.1
it's in the varifieds and in a post in requests
it is about a fifth of the size as norton av 2003 pro and is much faster
imo, it can't be beat and it never expires -- so u can't go wrong

i also run norton internet security 2003 pro -- w/o the standard NAV Pro, of course ;)
