I was talking to one of my friends, and he said that he plays final fantasy 7. I never played any final fantasy games, but I know they're suppose to be good. I was only 7-8 when final fantasy 7 came out, so I was too young. I dont have any 'next gen' system yet, so I was wondering. Are one of these games worth buying and going through the trouble of setting up my PS system again?

FF7:

Get a PS emulator from Torrentspy and download the PS version of FF7 and Chrono Cross. Great games, FF7 will go down in computer game history as one of the most important games, though if you're the type to be put off by old graphics then give them a miss. You can also get a PC version of FF7 and FF8.

Chrono Trigger is worth checking out, you'll need a Snes emulator and the ROM for that, I can send it to you if you want (small files).

Funnily enough I'm playing Final Fantasy I at the moment, I'm planning on playing the whole series through. Just for shits and giggles.

The thing is do you like turn-based combat RPGs. If so, I'd say go for it.

I'm waiting for Mass Effect (http://www.gametrailers.com/gamepage.php?fs=1&id=2211) for the 360 (also for PC).

I either like hack n' slash or some sort of hybrid.

I did play FF (the one with Cloud and Sephiroth) but ultimately did not enjoy it. I think Mass Effect will be the best ever.

I think Mass Effect will be the best ever.

It's got some stiff competition in the action-rpg genre, S.T.A.L.K.E.R and Bioshock are looking pretty damn good as well.

Those seem more simple FPS though (plus STALKER has been delayed like fuck).

The way you interact is very compelling in Mass Effect. It's real time conversations and changes you can make play out like a movie.

Lol yeah, go download epsxe emulator from torrentspy (comes with with bios and all the necessary stuff). I've been playing FFX for the ps2 on a ps2 emulator, awesome game ;) . Even if you don't like turn based games FFX makes turn based more fun and easier to get used to.

I think it emulated how Knights Of The Old Republic played. I might check FFX out.

Does X-2 play the same way?

I have a PC game pad and you can map the controls for different emulators.

FF8 = $24.99CAD
Chrono Cross = $29.99

Games for PS are not cheap.

I dled FF7 for PC, but I cant get it to work, I think I might need a codec or something.

I downloaded FF8 off Torrentspy just the other day. :dabs:

For FF7 get a PSX emulator, I could never get the PC version to work with XP.

:dabs:That's ironic.
