It hit me that I don't know the possible ways to get an account at the almighty ScT.

Do they even have invites or do you need to trade an account?

If they have invites:
is it like with FTN, almost always reached user limit?
How easy/hard is it for members to get invites?

I tried searching, but you get quite a few hits searching on “ScT invites” :P

sct has invites

the users with sct invites will come to you, you do not ever go to them

That's not even true. The sct account I got was because I asked for it.:mellow:


But they close all registrations when they reach 12000 users. I think when you get an invite they put in on hold or something until registration opens up again.

So if I get an invite now it will be queued until a spot opens up and never expire?

if you get a invite and it full you won't get in till they clear some dead members .
As the limit is 12000 as stated above.

but I can still have the invite sent to me so I can try to use it from time to time to see if it works?

and it won't expire in a week if I havent been able too use it?

Why do they make the user limit so small?
It should at least be like OiNK where it is more than 100,000 users/

Thats part of what makes them elite is because of their small userbase. If you want 100k+ site that offers the same stuff as Sct, try Torrentleech.

Besides with 12,000 they have more than enough peers to connect to and much faster than TL.:lol:

It is also likely a security precaution. Keep you userbase small = attract less attention from fans of copyright....

lol 12000 is far from a small user base... and many sites like having a smaller user base of trusted active users

^ Those sites usually need more leechers. People are afraid to leech for fear of hurting their ratios, and they just seed stuff from outside. ... That's where freebies and free leech comes in ...

because they dont want 100,000 members
for being 1 of the smaller torrent sites, its by FAR the fastest im part of.
i can download quicker from 1 seed on sct than u would from 100 on a site like torrentleech.
at the moment sct is pretty full, but like now spaces appear if u have an invite

Registered users 11995/12000
Unconfirmed users 50
so 50 ppl with invites, 5 spots. in 5 mins that'll be full again.

12000 isn't small lol and there don't want everyman and his dog in there .
100,000 members is alot to manage and imagine going through them to knock out bad members .:blink:
