"Makes perfect sense" does not apply in a country with kangaroos.

ahhh, good 'ol 76 degrees here. thx.

That's normal for you though.

The DC area will be 70 degrees tomorrow which would set a record. Today I made my 5 year-old bring a coat but was content for her to have on just her long sleeve shirt.

If only it could be that way on Sunday. The outlook says 54 degrees.

I gotta agree, I once tried to convert myself to the metric system, but people thought I was wierd and foreign. I didn't want that on my conscious.
That and its just too hard since everything from thermometers to the Speed Limit is in the imperial system or whatever. :frusty:

you could use this site to convert so people understand what that fahrenheit thing actually is in celcius... :) http://www.intmed.mcw.edu/clincalc/wtmeas.html

oh and buhuhuhu, its about 10 degrees fahrenheit where I am...

Ad's right. It never stops snowing in Bethlehem.

How could a country as hot as Australia relate to something which took place in the arctic tundra that is Israel.

Definitely the norm here. Yesterday the high was 80, and I'm still running the A/C. :dabs:

We should all convert to Kelvin.

Absolute zero > *

But even so, Celcius > Fahrenheit.
I mean, people don't even really know what Fahrenheit based his 0 and 100 degrees on. Saltwater mixes, cow's body temp, his own body temp....wtf?

Whereas 0 degrees is the melting point of ice, and 100 the boiling point of water under one atmosphere, in Celcius.

The triple point of water is actually 0.01C. Depending on the pressure water can exist in any of it's states at that temperature.

You can't really say that anything is the freezing point or melting point or boiling point because it depends on the pressure as well.

(P1*V1)/T1 = (P2*V2)/T2 and so forth.

I know you said under one atmos, I just wanted to discuss Boyle's Law in the Lounge.

Kelvin is just guesswork tho, they've never achieved absolute zero so its all just extrapolation from graphs and stuff :dabs:
i reckon you can go lower

After a river that runs thro' Glasgow.

Yeah but that's back to the whole Boyle's Law nest of vipers.

Kelvin is more elegant.
