Hmmm....this is even harder than naming the three best of all time. There are just so many bad ones. But what comes to mind is Showgirls, Plan 9 From Outer Space, and Battlefield Earth.

"Event Horizon" didn't seem to be going anywhere, there's worse... but I actually paid to watch "Event Horizon" to be disappointed. Yeah I hear ya, I too paid for that pile. The best part about it was the credits. Actually...maybe I should just put Paul W.S. Anderson on this list (he directed it). He also directed the p.o.s. Soldier. Oh, and Resident Evil and Mortal Kombat...which arent worst films of all time bad...but arent really that good either. Strangely though Im looking forward to Resident Evil:Apocalypse. I am not looking forward to MK3: Domination though <_<

Any Star Trek movie Huh...well I guess you are entitled to your opinion, but I think most agree that the Wrath of Kahn was actually a very entertaining film (the rest were crap though). Oh and I saw MK2....I'd swear my eyes bled watching that filth.

1.SIGNS (Oh my god, that was the worst movie ever... Very poor acting from Gibson... Very poor dialogue... The cast was maybe formed of 10 people at most)
2.ANY Star Trek Sh*t
3.Any Disney movie

thegroggman
05-18-2003, 02:09 AM
Really you thought Signs was that bad? I know alot of people did not enjoy the ending, but then they didnt realize it wsnt a film about aliens. Granted though it wasnt nearly as good as the 6th Sense or Unbreakable. Now...any Disney Movie? Seriously? You didnt enjoy watching them even as a kid? And actually I think some of them are quite endearing. Plus...if you say all Disney films that includes Toy Story 1&2 (yeah theyre made by Pixar but its still a subsidary of Disney) and well...Ive never met anyone who didnt like the toys.

Saturn 3 being the worser of the two. I mean for gods sake the damn robot had a camera for a head...and chisled abs ( ). Plan 9 at least has the corndog factor...I mean Ed Wood took himself seriously when he made the film...but youll laugh when you see how crappy the production value is.

Your number one is simply because you got up and left, you may be the only person I have ever been in contact with that did not at least like that movie (Meet The Parents).

First and foremost people you cannot dislike a movie that was exactly as it was intended, if it is billed as a corny romp with no point at all, then shame on you for wasting your time and money. But the worst movies are the one's that were billed as Big Budget or Action Packed or Super Funny and were none of the above or the exact opposite.

As for the rest of you "blanket statement" movie hating (entire genre's) small minds, go get a life or something.

Worst movies in my book:

Kung-Pow - Obvious reasons here, and no I did not watch it, watched it vicariously through several close friends.

Battlefield Earth - Worst ever in my book, as much money was spent on this film could have made a dozen or so really good films, just bad everything, I mean training what really are nothing bettter than neandrethals in a flight simulator and in a matter of hours have expert jet pilots, that alone was terrible, then you add in all of the goofy shit like aliens on stilts and you got yourself one heck of a very bad movie.

Tied for 3rd place are "Master of Disguise", even though I think Dana Carvey is hilarious, this movie did not live up to the billing and made members of my family ill just from trying to watch it.

And finally the second 3rd place winner is Atlantis: Milo's Return. What a bummer, it was 3 or 4 scooby episodes re-done with the characters from the first Atlantis and done worse I might add. Definitely was billed and flaunted as something it could never be, ending up totally worthless.

Again my point is this, anyone in their right mind knew going in what the police academy movies were all about, they lived up to all expectations and could not be worse movie for sure. You watching them makes me laugh, watches all PA movies then complains, HMMMMM.

I have to admit I am not a fan of rap nor anything even similar, however I would have to say that the problem with all of the films you listed is not with the films, only your imagination (or lack there of) and willingness to accept differences in cultures or at least pay attention, shame on you! Narrow minded and tunnel visioned come to mind as adjectives to explain your stand or view point on just about anything.

I would have to agree there on the Footloose front, the only people that hate that movie were either not of viewing age when it was released (too OLD or too young) or simply were not born yet. I think you had to be there for that one, to understand where it was coming from and why.

As for the Hercules movie, I think not, it was as it was intended, a farse of a farse, nothing more or less.

Your first two choices are ridiculous, anyone who watched them deserved it if they did not like them, they were meant to be that bad- REALLY, the title says it all in both cases.

As for your third statement, I would have to say you have issues, probably something along the lines of being overly childish yourself. Childrens are just that for choldren who like movies.

9) Charlies Angels !
10) HULK soon

thats all !!! they r the top ten worst movies of all time ! yeah i post 10 !
That is like a list of some of my favorites, the only way they could be the worst to you is that you cannot read english and did not understand the titles. Again shame on you. Everyone please understand if the title says "Spider-Man", then guaranteed you are going to see a Spider-man, got it, good.

Charlies Angels, HMMMM, the only reason to watch a movie such as that is for the CHICKS, the ONLY REASON. If you watched it for any other reason, shame on you again.

Can't believe he said the star wars movies as the worst movies ever.... Star Wars IV is among the highest grossing films of all time, and is used in films schools as a teaching tool. It has been copied countless times (Harry Potter, anyone?) I don't know about Episode I (blah) but still not the worst movie ever. Episode II actually got better IMHO. I actually sort of enjoyed the romance between Amidala and Anakin. Gave a new twist on the star wars mythos.

well, it looks like this thread has proved irrefutably: ANY MOVIE NOT AIMED DIRECTLY AT TEENAGED MALES SUCKS. hollywood just needs to stop making movies that are too wussy, intellectual, feminine, literary, and "family-oriented." also, they should stop hiring people to write scripts, and just hire more special effects artists. movies would so pwnz, then.

The thing that kills me about this thread is that even though these movies were terrible and people KNEW they were going to be terrible (I mean c'mon Crossroads) people lead such vapid existences devoid of any porpose that they actually went to see them. To the tune of millions of dollars too. I mean these movies although terrible and even an outright blatant attempt at a money grab(daddy daycare) made more money than you or I will ever see. So were exactly is the incentive for these company's to do anything but put out horrific nonsense that it costs next to nothing to produce(they sure aren't paying writers). This will continue forever untill people stop complaining about this and actually stop seeing these movies. Tell your friends, family, and co-workers we need to stop feeding this gluttonous monster that we want nothing more than to get rid of.

My point is simple if you not into horror movies why bother watching them and saying they are crap. I not like war films but if i watch any with my parents or grandparents i am not going to say they are crap just because they are my taste. In my time i have seen some real stinkers of horror movies and here is just a few
the exorcist - bored me senseless and was not at all scary
the exorcist 2 and 3, what was the point the first was bad enough
dagon - this was a waste of watching time
cannibal holocaust - only 2 good scenes in it, rest of film was boring
my little eye - as scary as the exorcist, enough said, waste of time yet again.

Man you guys are the worst critics ever (you also love to say ever alot).
You haven't even seen a movie and you judge it.
Or you go behind what critics say and say the same thing.
Or you say a movie is bad because it cost alot to make it and it didn't make it's money back at the box office. <_<

Dear Puk:)),

Bowling for columbine is so stupid it boggles the mind.

The idea that having guns causes murders is rediculous.

I just looked at the international murder stats and they prove that having guns is not the problem.

Take a look at this list,

---------------------murders/100,000------% of households with guns
United States------------5.70---------------------------39.0
Finland-------------------3.24---------------------------23.2
Italy----------------------1.66---------------------------16.0
Scotland-----------------0.19-----------------------------4.7
Canada------------------ 0.76---------------------------29.1
Australia------------------0.44--------------------------19.4
New Zealand-------------0.17--------------------------22.3
Belgium-------------------0.60--------------------------16.6
England/Wales4----------0.11---------------------------4.7
Switzerland---------------0.58--------------------------27.2
Sweden-------------------0.18--------------------------15.1
Germany-----------------0.22----------------------------8.9
France--------------------0.44---------------------------22.6
Norway-------------------0.30---------------------------32.0
Spain---------------------0.21---------------------------13.1

If having guns causes murders then I wish you would explain why all these other countries with all those guns don't have this problem. Finland and Italy are the only ones that come close. The rest of them prove that the main point of this documentary is a lie! Having guns does not cause murder!!!

What about the 8 countries with higher murder rates than the U.S., what's thier excuse.

The Columbine murders are a very poor example to use in this film.

These murders were committed by nut cases.

The vast majority of murderers are not.

The biggest reason for murders in america seems to elude all of these people who
have chips on thier shoulders.

It is not guns.

It is not movies or tv.

If people in other countries don't want all this violence in movies then why are they flocking in to see them by the millions. Conclusion---they don't have the guts to make violent movies, they might look bad, so we have to do thier dirty work for them.

It isn't even money.

The biggest reason that the murder rate is higher in the U.S. than in most other countries is that we had about 200 years with little or no government intrusion of any kind, including law enforcement.

These people were very independant and territorial, solved thier own problems, made thier own rules, and got away with it because there was nobody to say no. Even when law enforcement first came to areas that did not have it, men were expexted to solve most of thier problems themselves, as long as it was a fair fight, killing was ok. Whining to the law is for women.

This very masculine and arrogant attitude has been passed down to us.

The problem is that it has gotten twisted.

Instead of standing up for yourself like a man, backshooting is now the rule.

You can't get away with standing toe to toe and shooting it out anymore, but you can get away with driveby shootings and sniper attacks and even killing people in front of witnesses as long as they believe as you do, it's your business not mine.
Many of these murders have witnesses but nobody talks.

A low percentage of these murders are ever solved and they know they can get away with it.

Most of these people would not kill anybody if they had to look them in the eye when they did it.

A large portion of these murders will be blamed on the drug trade, but drug money is not the root cause, masculine arrogance is. "I am a man and I will do anything I please".

Another large portion of these murders will be blamed on society, or poverty, or some other crap. None of this is true. Why didn't the other 99.99% of these people become murderers.

Because it is how you are raised and the attitudes that you learned while growing up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Where I grew up, there was a family of complete jerks, 3 boys. One of them was in my class from 2nd grade through 12th grade. They got no discipline from thier father at all. Anything they did was excused because they were his sons and they could do no wrong. I watched the boy in my class grow up to be unbelievably selfish, arrogant, and sadistic. When he was 23 he had to shoot his brother to keep him from beating his father to death. None of those other excuses apply. These boys were raised badly, and that is the cause of most of these murders.

As far as everybody hating the U.S., this is plain jealousy.

They damn sure like us when they have thier hands out asking for money.
They damn sure like us when they want us to fight thier wars for them.
They damn sure like having us around when they want to blame thier problems on us like the germans blamed thier problems on the jews.

If they hate us so much why are they coming here by the millions, they sure aren't running to all these upstanding, peace loving countries. They come here by choice.

Obviously what we have here is much better than what they had there, and well worth the risk.

When they are there, they hate us. When they come here they love us and our country. That is the definition of lealousy.

Ask them if they want to leave the U.S. for one of these other countries, the answer will be a resounding NO!

Our arrogance is what made this country what it is today, the greatest country on the planet. The one that eveyone else wants to get into, not out of.

Hey come on guys this is just a movie forum, why don't we all just get along like big Cyber Family instead of dissing each others countries.

When we log on we should forget about patriotism and politics and just be ourselves talk to people from all over the world without being sarcastic or patronising.

All i'm trying to say is just for once just forget what country you are from and just think of your self as an individual in the global family

come on bro's let there be piece.

1- Titanic
2- Titanic
3- Titanic

Oh, did I mention that Titanic sucks ass?!

Seriously though, 95% of the movies are pieces of crap put together just to make money.
Movie studios spend more money on advertises, propaganda and special FX (Star Wars, Matrix, Titanic...) than they do on getting good actors and actually having a good script.

Just one more thing:

i hear what your saying me2 but i dont believe that its simply saying that guns are the reason people in america kill each other on a massive level.... attitude towards them (as you said passed down to them) & fear are what do it.

Our arrogance is what made this country what it is today, the greatest country on the planet.

well your close..... but the american arrogance is whats causing the biggest problem on the planet.

if you dont believe me you clearly have no idea what you government does around the world.

do you know they are currently black mailing poor smaller countrys by threatening to stop all kind of aid unless they sign a agreement so that US troops can not be trialed (sp?) for war crimes that they commit in that country..... no i didnt think so.

& thats only a tinny bit of the shit their currently up too.

sorry to all..... i know this is the wrong place for this but had to be said.

o & no way do 4.7% of households in england own guns.

just had to edit this cause the more i read your post me2, the more i realize you completely prove my point...... YOU THE ARE THE BLIND.. MAYBE ITS TIME YOU OPENED YOUR EYES??

we really do need to move this topic somewhere about guns=violence and the problems with America. I find the comments very interesting and would like to comment myself about it. I found that all people involved made some good points. Can we move that part of it somewhere else so I can comment on it too??

Oh yeah and hey....? Didn't anyone else hate "About Schmidt" ?? How in the heck can a horrible piece of crap like that be a hit??? How could anything to do with that film get an Oscar Nomination. (Sorry Kathy Bates. I think you're good but that movie was trash.) Could it be because everyone loves Jack Nicholson and he hasn't been in a movie for awhile? That movie was a big disappointment in my opinion and the name should have been About SH!t.

Alright, some of the movies I see listed as bad are actually good compared to:

- Event Horizon
- Vanilla Sky
- Gigli (Even Jay Leno and my local news station made fun of it)
- Star Trek MXVIII (whatever the one is where Data get's blown up on that over-powered Picard clone ship and his retarded prototype brother gets introduced, WTF were paramount smoking, I want some).

You should watch the movies before you assume they suck, Harry Potter gets more violent every book as deadlier magic and more evil creatures get used, The author seems to be anticipating her audience getting older every year. I am not sure about the movies though they might tone it down a bit, though there was some pretty bloody scenes in CoS. If you don't believe me, watch the movies that I listed above and I garentee you'll appreciate movies based off of best selling kids books. The movies I listed above are the worse movies I have ever seen in my life an I regret not complaining to theatre management for a refund.

Some of the movies you guys list at least have a plot, so they can't be the worsed, Star Trek had a plot, but I was extremely disappointed with it (Data is teh pwn and didn't deserve such a simple death. The crew could have at least shown that they noticed that he was gone). And I don't understand how a reject clone of Picard who was raised in a prison mining camp winds up getting a gigantic ship that outruns and outguns the top ship from the Federation... It isn't like he had money or people to build it.

Mortal Kombat movies aren't the worsed, but like the MK TV series. it's corny.

the best star trek film i seen had to be star trek 2 wrath of khan. that one i did like. My philosophy is simple, if i know i will not be interested in the film then i don't watch it. But some i have watched have turned out to be real turkeys. One horror i saw was TO BECOME ONE, for the first hour it was good enough with a good few killings then it switch to some other stupid garbage and has the worst ending i have ever seen in an horror. 1 hour good, 30 minutes after of total garbage. it was like i had been watching 2 separate films.
