What is the benefit to forum based torrent sites?

The title asks the questions. I find them bulky to navigate, not very user friendly when compared to the common torrent sites. Just curious as to why some sites choose this format.

Yep, I definately find the common layout better then forum based sites, especially when ordering torrents by seeders or leechers
