I know my internet connection is normal because on my other computer I get normal speeds. I have cable internet no log on. I'm not downloading anything on the other computer.

I just installed Windows XP SP2 and normally I just have to use automatic settings to connect to the internet with my SP1 installation and I get normal speeds.

Now with SP2 I do the same thing to connect to the internet but my speeds are lowered. I turn off Windows firewall and it is still low.

The computer is connected simply to a network hub. no router. I am running avast antivirus and sygate personal firewall. Scanned the whole computer no virus no spyware.

I have no idea why the speeds are so low?

to how many half open connections did you set it? recheck it with the above file. installation of sp2 sets it to 10 . Set it to the maximum. Also install and run tcpoptimizer.
