Perhaps...English is not this person's primary language. If not, let's cut him some slack. If it is, then he needs to revisit grammar school.

It would be so sweet to be able to make all the changes that kazaa needs. But if it gets too popular Sharman will just release new software, change the cipher and kick all the mldonkey users/other people using the cracked version off the network. <_<
What would be ideal is if somehow u could use the existing kazaa software to access the encrypted supernodes/servers and then handle the downloading and everything else in your own designed program.

This is probably a port from the FastTrack plugin of the GiFT project.

Sharman can't just change the cipher. That would mean that all companies that license access to the FastTrack network have to update their software. And people that don't upgrade will just be connected to their own little network.

I went looking and I found a little bit more about it on zeropaid
http://www.zeropaid.com/bbs/showthread.php...?threadid=10470 (http://www.zeropaid.com/bbs/showthread.php?threadid=10470)
& noticed that random nut seems to be taking an interest. Could this be the end for kazaa lite? Though I'm sure this forum would be just as popular :P

It is now official
Mldonkey forum homepage: http://mldonkey.berlios.de/

Zeropaid discussion:
http://www.zeropaid.com/bbs/showthread.php...?threadid=10786 (http://www.zeropaid.com/bbs/showthread.php?threadid=10786)

Supposedly it works, but apparently the gui is a pile of shite. Also most people don't seem too eager about mldonkey, but i suppose its the open source factor that makes this important. Give it a couple of months and I'm sure we'll be seeing some sizeable migration over to these clients from even klite. And I;m sure it won't be too long before they'll have copied all the features that klite adds on to kazaa.
Enjoy

No, I'm not interested in that project or any other p2p project. If I wanted to write a FastTrack p2p program I would've done it 8 months ago.

It will properly save alot of confusion :P

this is using kazaa's p2p?

ilw

this is using kazaa's p2p?

It accesses the fasttrack network which is the same network that kazaa accesses (along with some other programs which have bought licenses).

NB I never meant to imply R(coco)N was somehow linked to this project I just mentioned the fact he was participating in the discussion as people here know him and so seemed to lend credibility to the initial story
