ultra products is manufacturing a new psu with 2000 watts and 1 12v rail @ 150Amps!!!! that's just beautiful to me. w0w, will i need that? soon to be released to us in the 1st quarter of '07 for $500. that's pretty cheap compared to the PC Power & Cooling 1k for the same price.

Ultra = JUNK

PC Power & Cooling is the best.

That's why the price difference.

perhaps so, but we'll see what the verdict is when it cumz to review, but i will say this... seeing how 1k and 2k psu are now available perhaps more will cum out and thus lowering the cost of other lower end and possibly price wars with the 1k+'s!

Not necessarily true.
Jonny Guru has given good reviews to the last few Ultra PSUs and likes the new 2K unit as well.
The trouble with this supply is that it's capable of pulling more amperage than the average house circuit can handle.
In a normal PC it won't of course, but it certainly could if it wanted to.

Zap...personally I think PCP&C is overhyped.
They used to be the Cadillac of PSUs but seem to have fallen behind in features and efficiency.

$10 says it still comes with an 18AWG power cord.:lol:

JonnyG says it comes with a "really big" cord but is apparently still under NDA till CES is over, so it's hard to say.
I think you owe me $10 though.

"NDA"= non-disclosure agreement.
Many reviewers sign them when they get a sample before public release.

"CES"= Consumer Electronic Show.
Big industry shindig held in Las Vegas this coming week.

My current PSU works fine...so far.

$10 won't get you very far with that.
