I'm in a security class and we're discussing honeypots (operating systems with known vulnerabilities that can be taken advantage of and measured)

Is there a specific linux distro made as a honeypot that I can experiment with?

I'm not 100% sure but I think that BackTrack2 (http://www.remote-exploit.org/index.html) comes with some kind of honeypot application that creates a virtual network. You can also try "Honeyd" here (http://www.honeyd.org/). Hope it helps!

Interesting stuff, honeypots :D
I found this with a quick search on google:
http://www.honeynet.org/tools/cdrom/
I've never tried it.
Anyway all the major PenTest Live CD, among which Backtrak is the best imho, have honeytools built in
Hope it can help
;)
