Maybe he wants to take it to a PAL place or he could be visiting the US from a PAL place where X360 aren't available. Anyway you can order from Amazon UK (http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=sr_nr_p_3_8/026-4424150-0126009?ie=UTF8&rh=n%3A15826471%2Cn%3A15826491%2Cp%5F3%3A%C2%A3200%20-%20%C2%A3300&page=1) and have it shipped almost anywhere or follow the advise in above posts as it would be nearly impossible to find it at a retailer in US. In that case it would be better for him to take it from MEDIAMARKT (German big reseller).
They are located in Germany, Belgium, France. (Cheaper xbox360 price through europe).

If you buy it in the US and then send it to him, he will have to pay duties
at the customs.
