Why don't you also download with Newsbin?

because its a trail version. afaik it works after trail but it stops every 15 minutes when you're downloading and then you'll need to press "ok" before it continues. and alt.binz automatically repairs everything so thats quite handy.

Ah, ok. I bought the prog. Sounds abit weird though, buyng a program to use it for warez. But at least it's a hell of a value :P

I have been using grabit for nzb files.
Doing great, downloads properly.
Only one glitch, my system freezes while the downloads are going on, seems some os related issue. will work on this and see and report accordingly.
I have downloaded the appl mentioned above and will try to work with it.

I like this program it is a lot quieter than Grabit on decode. Although I have not really gone for any DVD 50 meg rar decodes using it mainly 15-20 meg XviD post. Great to see the search site integration.

One small thing I have had some trouble using multiple servers. Thats is not as easy to work out as grabit but I will keep abusing this great program. Cheers for the heads up.

I like this client aplenty. It reminds me of Newsleecher with the graph and the colors and whatnot. I also like that it's a stand-alone exe and repairs and extracts automatically.

The client seems to be pretty good I'll keep trying it out for a little and see how it does.

I think that Alt.Binz is the best FREE binary downloader out there. Still under heavy development, it keeps improving each day. (check the daily builds in irc channel) It supports all the latest developments; multi-server downloading, SSL encryption, automatic unPARing, built-in search engines, download scheduler, and a lot more. The only question is how long will something this good remain free?

I used to like Grabit and Binary News Reaper (and Xnews long ago) but these appz have not been updated in a very long time.

True, Alt.Binz does not load headers, but with all the NZB sites around, who still uses headers anymore?

It is a very good program. When I was a NG noob, this was the first program I tried and I found it easy to setup and use. All it needs is the ability to download headers.

I made this a while back and forgot all about it. Feel free to use it if you want.

yeah it really does need the abilty to download headers and this would be a very good client.

The guy who's making this program already said a couple of weeks ago that downloading headers was one of the top priorities

After months of weekly updates the latest version of the program is now a month old... even their irc chan is kinda dead, which is unfortunate

On 20 connections at the same time i get 60% CPU load, and alt.binz will crash. Have anybody the same Problems?

MultiForce

Using 20 connections and downloading @ 3MB/s uses 60% CPU. No crashes though.

Slowing down the computer a bit but I'm downloading on a "dedicated" comp so I don't care.

The developer is still active in the forum so there is no reason to believe there won't be any more updates.

Don't you get a "add to queue" option when right clicking on the stuff you want to download?
