How much longer do you think the PS2 has on it before it's pretty much dead and no worthwhile games are in development?

2 years?
I think there will be many sold in 2007 because they are so much cheaper then the PS3 and there are MANY games for it which also become cheaper.

it took 5 years for the ps1 to die off so i'm guessing about the same.

Well I bet games for the ps2 continue longer then original xbox games have. Seems like 1 year for the xbox really decreasing now :(

PS2's library is far superior to Xbox's, imo.

i think the ps2 still has some life in it due to the fact that big and popular games are ps2 only eg gt3/4,devil may cry, metal gear ect and people will always go back to them, plus there cheap now

The question is, how much longer are you still going to want to play your PS2.

A long time, they will stop making games for it in about 1/2 year or so maybe 1 year, but ppl will still play their PS2's for some time to come. And like everyone else has said, PS2 has a far superior library of games than the Xbox.

According to Wikipedia the last game released for the PS1 was Fifa Soccer 2005 which was released in October 2004. About 4 years after the release of the PS2.

Nah.. Five years is a lot. Maybe something like 2-3 years. Then PS3 will be a bit cheaper than the present price and people will want to buy and play everything they have on ps2 on ps3 instead.

Yeah, I'd also say around 2-3 years. The PS3 is currently losing the race so they'll need to push hard to get it above the Xbox 360 and Wii.

I'd say it has a few years after the next Final Fantasy game is released. Although realistically it'll probably run longer.

there won't be any good releses for ps2 in 2008 but it has games that can be played for eternity. <<<<shadow of the colossus, god of war, ico etc.

i would say at least 2 yrs. games like guitar hero 2, call of duty 3 and mlb 07 the show will keep on making people buy the ps2. i will say though that in 3 yrs ps3 is going to rule the gaming market. the only thing that will make the 360 going is the xbox live.

As long as there are PS2 games. When the nice producers will say stop to the creation of PS2 games then its the end :D

There are still greatest hits PS1 games and systems being sold in stores like Kmart and Target, so I still dont even think the PS1 is officially dead yet. And not only is the system cheap, all of the greatest games for it are currently 20$. I think that the Ps2 could live on for many more years than the PS1 did!
