I'm looking for an online file storage service where I can upload a file 800 megabytes or bigger and be able to download it all back without any download restrictions. I already use mediamax but I've had problems with them in the past and am looking for an alternative. Also the service cannot delete the file after a certain amount of inactivity. Thanks.

Mediafire looks to be quite good. The site is down for repairs now so I couldnt check it out. Is there some sort of catch that knocks its value down?

No catches, no restrictions, no paying, no nothing, except fot the major fact that some people (like me !) CAN'T USE IT !!!
They started blocking certain countries by IP recently. If you get a blank page but no error reports when you try to open mediafire.com, then you're living in one of them.

I got the same blank page. I'm now checking out the gigasize site and it says "90 days resets every time file is downloaded". Does this mean that if I download the file once every 90 days, the time allowed for it to go without inactivity goes to 90 days again?

You have to install software to use the program. Do you know if it is safe to use?

Wow that seems like a really good site. But I'm suspicious of them offering all those features with no drawbacks, while it all is free. Is there some sort of drawback to this site that I'm missing?

just a question but how do people use servers to upload/download BT files? can you setup BT on webservers such as http://centelia.net ?

Why is it so damn slow for me ? Main page works perfectly, but I have to wait 1-2 minutes for any action in the file management page or to connect via ftp ?

And they lied about the unlimited speed, I have a 1024/192 kbps connection (~100/20 kBps in reality), and in my test the download speed varied from 30-50 kBps, and the upload speed was around the full 20 kBps. Also, when I connected via FTP to their server, one of the server-client messages said that my speed was restricted !
Still, it's one of the rare file hosting services that allow FTP, which is my only chance for interuptable upload, which I need to upload large files because of IP adress changing.

Just found out that http://www.up-file.com is practically the same as fileHO!, only without the speed problems with the site and ftp connecting. I mean, everything looks almost the same ! What's the deal ?
