Unless you plan to be a "speciality" site, then there is no need for another 0day/sec... type site, as there are plenty of these sites out there already.

there are so many trackers out there,so openin a new tracker is a kind of risky business:)
but if the new one has content that no others trackers have,then maybe a chance...
but today people can find whatever they are looking for in old trackers

If the men wants to make a new tracker, let him do it. Dont discourage him. He'll probably crash and burn, but you'll never know. And i agree with kavalchuk17, there's a niche for comedy that noone has filled yet. Whoever does it well, will have a very sucessful tracker.

Creating the tracker is the easy part.

Keeping it running is the hard part. You need alot of time and money. There is alot more that goes into it then you can see from the cheep seats.

Then it comes down to having good Staff. And unfortunotly getting people that you can trust is harder then it seems, You think you know someone, then a year later and that same person is screwing you over.

From what I see, FST's biggest demands are for a decent music and comedy tracker.

Pianosheets was a great sheetmusic and music tutorial site but the administration stinks on the site so it's hobbling along with all sorts of problems.
There's room on the the www for such a speciality tracker especially if it were well organised
