Have you ever spent some time in the guestroom. The same questions repeating themselves.

Here's my idea. Community Service.

Anyone who breaks the rules must post a fixed number of usefull posts in the guest room. Answering n00b questions and so forth.

If they flame or spam then posts are added to the sentence.

No return to the main board until time served.

What think you.

PS - Due to a mis-type which I corrected before posting this I now realise that guests is an anagram of gusset. That can't be a coincidence.

When was the last time someone was banned.

You'd have to ask a mod, or get someone to admit it.

I believe this is a more humane punishment.

Indeed they also become usefull to the board by helping encourage more people to join.

I will quite happily get punished by mod, as long as I can pick the mod.

Who said mods suck btw.

It does bear consideration, but do the mods need the extra supervisory headache?

Appoint a "supervisor" for the period / number of posts. They can keep an eye on the persons activity and if it is questionable they can bring it to the attention of a mod.

Sort of like Special Constables in the UK. Not the same power as normal cops but carry out some of the duties, so the real cops can do other things.

May even want to have a small team of them to be allocated probationers when the need arises.

Aint it weird that you have to even suggest such an action ??

I think the Mods are doing a great job, but i agree with the suggestion 100%. Maybe if they came down a bit harder it might help. Most dont even read the FAQ's or the rules, so more fool them if they get banned or warned - but who ever got banned lately ?

Peace
