anyone know what software to use to mask your IP address? I am currently using "Hide my IP" 1.9 but since i dont have any money or a serial it'll expire soon.... i was wondering if there were any type of software which is like hide my IP

Most of the software you'll have to pay for. Just search Google for "Mask my IP address", get the serial (you should at least get one program that has a working serial) and voila! you've got a working program.

You don't need software. Just plug in the info for a free anonymous proxy into Firefox or IE.

I find that Elite Proxies from South Korea offer the best anonymity. It will appear that you are coming from Korea, and often even if they Google Search for the IP they will see, it won't come up as a proxy. That's what I do when I impersonate Koreans.

Proxies are usually total crap honestly.

Web based proxies are slow. Only CGI proxies work for logins, and they are even slower. And you don't know who is getting your information.

HTTP or Sock proxies are still slow, and generally good ones are few-and-far between, and even then, are just owned by hackers.

The only exception is Tor, which you shouldn't use for P2P or any other heavy traffic.
