I will be selling my PC for 1200$ and would like to know if I should buy an xbox 360 with an HDTV or buy another better computer?

I kind of got bored of gaming on my pc.

What do you think?

i think if you live by yourself, the computer is more fun... but if you always have a lotta people over, the 360 might be a better choice

In my opinion X360 is the future console for games. X360 have not requirements for games but new games for PC have very high system requirements like R6:Vegas, Splinter Cell Double Agent :)

Well if you are bored of PC games and Xbox games interest you then I think it's an obvious choice.

360 + HDTV > gaming PC

Buy a barebones PC later for internet/word processing. A gaming PC will cost too much (assuming Direct X 10/Vista computer).

Yes but consoles are stuck in time (DX9, hardware updates almost impossible) compared to PCs that get updated and get all the juicy new graphics and etc.

I think now is the wrong time to be buying a new PC if you want it to be "future-proof". Save your money for when the dust settles on DX10, Vista, etc. Don't buy a 360 thinking it'll fix your gaming boredom woes, it has nothing new to offer, won't even be able to play PC titles such as Crysis (ffs...) and the graphics are going to look sorely dated next to your mate's PC who wisely chose the PC gaming route.

Uh huh but it'll cost a boat load.

Graphics cards basically will run the cost of the 360. Further from that, you'll have to wait awhile for DX10/Vista to be viable.

Games like Gears of War, Lost Planet, etc are kickass and there are more to come.

like one of the first posts says... if you got friends over alot... go for the xbox360!!.. I find multiplayer in the living room with the big screen is just way better game! as far as the graphx go though. the PC is king!.. a good graphx card costs as much as the xbox360 itself!! there is also alot more for the PC than the xbox360 - that goes without being said... I would get both if you dont have it already!a good pc with graphx card/monitor is a grip so be prepared to pay more for the better shit.

I have to disagree, he could go with a cheap dx9 card and then in about 8 months when DX10 and the games really hit he could pick up a DX10 card for a few hundred bucks. He may not be able to get a system that will run everything maxed out, but it'll run it good enough. For PCs you can't assume someone is going to buy the top of the line stuff, especially when nothing is out that uses it yet (DX10) It's safer to assume that they will wait till the game/product that needs it is out, and by that time the price on the hardware will have dropped to a more reasonable buy.

Honestly, it all depends. I am glad I built my own PC as opposed to getting a console. Mainly because I use my PC for way more than just gaming. If you are looking for solely gaming, look at the current games each has to offer and the games that are coming out within 6 months and make your decision.

Yeah I used to play PC games mostly until the console games got better and the PC didn't get enough great games anymore.

Have you seen God Of War 2? That on a damn PS2?!

If consoles would get much better games and easier config for them then consoles wouldn't have a chance. As it stands, consoles have a great market for those reasons.

M$ seems to be trying to remedy this with Vista. I would absolutely love to have a gaming PC (supersmall case) and be able to pop a game in, cut it on, and get to playin'.

I honestly don't know why this wasn't done a long time ago. Now because of the Xbox being around, it will probably never be.

Hell I think I'm going to buy a Wii for the exercise.:dabs:

I'd go for another PC if you wont have one to use. So many more things to do. If you entertain on a regular basis though, x360 is the way to go!

Surely Nintendo know the job better than the others, them having been making consoles for a brazillion years. :dabs:

i didn't mean to ignore nintendo, you're right about it, but i meant that sony is a much serious company.nintendo's games are funny and "lite" (some of them are really good-zelda-) but nintendo isn't involved in that race.

Look at the Wii, for instance, that little thing is making Nintendo MILLIONS. The Wii is the only Next-Gen console that is actually profiting from the hardware itself.

I believe this time around Nintendo is in the console race even if it is much different from the PS3 and Xbox 360.

What is best to get the PS3 or XBox360? I heard the PS3 does not have alot of games atm, but the Xbox 360 can be modded now right?

If it was a choice between having a PC or an xbox 360 i'd choose a PC everytime. You can just do so much more on a PC than on a console.

If you're talking about which is best for games a PC or 360 i'd say it depends on what type of games you play.

For example, I don't think consoles are very good for RTS but they rock for FPS.

That said there are some games like Lost Planet: Extreme Condition that you can't get for PC which i'd die to play.

It's great to have a console to play on when friends come round but it's also great to have a PC. I have the best of both worlds, I have a 4 PC LAN and a modded xbox (sadly not a 360).

Go for the 360 and the HD cause its the new wave and eventhough pc is universal, me being a 360 owner and a new pimped out pc owner can tell you unless you go all the way for a pc, hit up the 360 and HD TV

Not alot of decent games on 360 atm, haven't touched mine in the last month. But ultimatley depends what games you enjoy, consoles best for sports, beat em-ups, arcade. PC best for fps, strategy, sim.
