Hi Guys

I have a legit copy of Office XP Professional.

I want to re-install it on an old machine for testing purposes.

But when I go to activate it over the phone, the support staff tell me I am not allowed to.

Does anyone know a way around this ?

A PM may be good !

Did Office XP have activation? I forgot. It may be an activation serial. Hmm can't remember right now.

Yes it does have Activation, you have 40 times to open Word or Excel etc before you phone Microsoft to activate it. I have the original CD key etc.

But they wont let me activate it on my old second machine.

If you're going to go to all the effort then why not get Office 2003 or even Office 2007?

;)

So does this mean that only Office XP 2002 has the Microsoft Activation Process ?

If so it means that once again I was sucked in !
Shit always happens to me

No. They all have the activation but some have been hacked. ;)

aren't some just corp versions that don't need activation, like winXP?

Office XP Professional. only allows you to have activation on 2 machines
1 pc and 1 lap and more then that they will not give you or send you another activaction code otherwise people would be giving it out to friends so if your planning to put in in another machine you need to purchase another copy didnt make sence to me either since we are running 3 different pc's in our home
and only 2 can have it 1 laptop and 1 desktop

Yes its a bit silly allowing you to have it on 1 PC and 1 lap top. I dont like lap tops and I have 2 PC's, one upstairs and one downstairs. Whats wrong with that Bill ?
