say i have an invite ticket now...can the person who gave it to me cancel it between now and whenever invites are enabled again?

I don't think that's possible, however you should take into consideration that he might give it to someone else as well.

This celebration is private for our current members only and to emphasize that, we have closed invitations for the 2 weeks of celebration.
