Just lately, getting onto this forum has become harder and harder.

Today I have had the 'Server Busy' notice a half dozen times.

Looking on the front page I see this ..

Currently Active Users: 851 (145 members and 706 guests)

The server obviously has problems with those sorts of numbers, 83% of which are guests.

Isn't it about time there was some sort of restriction so that members get priority over guests?

I'm sure a good many of the guests come back time and again, and find no need to register, if they could only see the topic headings they would be more inclined to join, or not come back, freeing up the server for members.

Yeah, time for a server upgrade.

Blocking guest access would be like biting yer nose off to spite your face.

From the forum front page:
Most users ever online was 3,132, 12-19-2006 at 05:30 PM.851 seems to be well below capacity so I assume it's a server, not guest issue.

I've found the board to be really slow over the last couple of days.

When it goes that way I often don't bother, coz it's just a pain. I'm sure others are the same.

I'm exactly the same.
Over the past two weeks I've had server too busy pages too many times to count and it frustrates me enough to close IE and open my Sudoku game. Aaaah... that's better.

Growing pains ? I find the same problem then check out a few other sites ,then come back here . Question is how many new members give up and move on ?

Have sent a message to tech support to look into this...

sometimes, if you keep a keen eye open , you will notice that before you actually arrive on some busy boards, like this one, that you could have been re-routed through a few other sites...sort of thing. Well if one of those sites is "slow" or having other problems, you might need some patience, before you finally arrive where you want to... here. Solution, adjust your IE time out :)

Good man, you know it makes sence.

I've tried downloading stuff from BT and Usenet, I don't think it was my connection causing problems.

dont make it difficult for guests-first impressions count-make it easy to browse the forums and encourage others to join up .
