View Full Version : SATA2 + MSI Mobo

Hello,
I have a MSI motherboard (K8N Neo2) and i want to buy a new HDD.

I want to buy a SATA disk, but i can only find SATA2.

Do you think that it will work?? I dont want to buy it and find out that it's not working at all

You may have to set a jumper to restrict it to SATA I mode.

Seagates come with the jumper defaulted to SATA I.
Remover jumper entirely to enable the faster spec.

Glad I read this thread, Im planning on replacing my 500 gig hard drive that died last week with one of the seagate sata2 drives but was unsure of what the difference was and if it would work with sata1
