azureus and utorrent have the same down and up speeds. Upload speed depends how many are leechers, download speed depends how many are seeders.

No, that's a very uneducated bias.

In all reality utorrent should go faster since it used less resources.
If your using a slow connection you might not notice. But when you go on faster pipes youll notice less ram usage and other resources = better speeds.

I agree. I used both in the past and utorrent is, for me, a clear winner. Much less resource usage equals better performance in this case. Azureus can be a real hog sometimes.

Utorrent is a little more user friendly IMO, it has easy options for seeding.

Azureus is cool because it has
plugins and a LOT more options.

They say Azureus uses a lot more memory than
Utorrent, but I never really noticed.

They both have their good and bad points, I wish I could merge them both. :P

uTorrent is the better client out of the two. It's a lot simpler and it uses a lot less resources. I have used both and never noticed any speed difference.

LMAO

As far as im concerned based on (MY OWN EXPERIENCE)
Utorrent works much faster for me. But im doing speeds of 100MBit+

For slower connections like -10Mbit you probably wouldnt really notice much of a differance between the clients.

As someone else stated each client has its ups and downs.

Utorrent uses less resources and gernally doesnt slow your computer down. While AZ has way more custom pluginz available to enhance your general torrenting experience. Options such as PG Blocklists, banlists ect...

yeah utorrent has a great +++ by using less memory and "lite" appearance

utorrent is faster a little (about %1-2) bit than azureus.. but im using azureus because its definately better program. u can play with any options in it. it looks complicated at first but complicated programs "always" better than simple ones

µtorrent doesn't need java installed so it gets my vote.

i love utorrent. it's so light on system resources. azureus is java based and consumes a hell lot of RAM.

Unused ram is wasted ram. I want programs to fully use my available ram. So as long as you have a decent amount of ram, azureus doesnt have any problems. If you dont have enough ram or if you run other ram hogging programs on your seeding box(games for example), then it is probably best to use utorrent.

Only problem is if your maxed on ram in your torrent client. What if you want to play a game or encode something to a differant format?

Just cause its there doesnt mean you have to max it.
Ex: Your car can go 160mph yet most normal people wont go over 80 - 90mph on the highway.

Azureus is faster in terms of downloading, if your on a fast connection you'll see the difference with azureus.

ps. thats a horrible analogy.
