Avi To Your Home Dvd

How would you get "the recruit " (AVI) to play on my home DVD player? I have nero and my attempt failed as the picture was upside down and inside out the audio was perfect though. Why is this and what is the difference between svcd and vcd, i have the video cd option with nero but no svcd. thanks.

P.S i do not have DVD burner

Have you tried putting the DVD in backwards that might flip the picture back over again but the sound might come out in reverse LOL :D
