If it's only 4+ GB then it's not true HD. An HD movie ranges around 20 GB. You're probably looking at a DVD-R rip.

If you want a smaller size, try Xvid. They're closer to 700+ MB.

I wouldnt bother if your watching it on a 17in. but if you have an xbox 360 and can get a wmv-hd version then yes the picture quality is awsome.

@evening-star He is on about a HD-DVD Rip which is around 4-7gig hence the smaller size. I have watched a few of these on my 42inch HDTV and you don't notice any loss in quality. Which is just the same as getting a dvdrip from a DVD.

I realized afterwards he was probably speaking about the 720p x264 encoded rips. They're from HD DVDs, or HD cable, but I've never considered them true HD because the smaller encoding causes loss of quality.

The specialty HD torrent sites have movies encoded with 1080p VC-1, which are around 20 GB per film. *shrug* Preference I guess.

i am downloading this movie from TL.. and its reselution is 1280x720.. so it must be an HD-rip...

i dont have an XBOX...:ermm:
i think i should download this one itself coz i cant find decent xvid version of this movie...

It's an HDTV rip. I actually have downloaded it myself (not from tl). The "small" size is due to the high compressability of x264. There isnt that much loss in picture quality in the encoding.

And HD DVDrips look even better. Dont be fooled by the size, an HD DVDrip is way better than a DVD. I use media player classic to play the files, i think it's the better player.

720p rips still look amazing. IMO it's not worth 3x the size for 1080p rips. Just my opinion.

Of course, I don't even have a 1080p HDTV (only a 1080i LCD tv).

If all u have is a 17 inch monitor, u seriously wouldn't need to dl a file that high of a resolution. IMO, a decent 1.4GB dvdrip would be more than enough.

I think Hdbits.org is the better one with bit-hdtv improving all the time. But funny enough, the one i used more is hdbits.ro because of their bonus system, since i dont have that great upload speed. The tracker is down at the moment.

Don't forget x264. Agree with Morphine on hdbits.org and hd-bits.ro.
