What exactly is a private tracker?
What are the benefits of a private tracker?
Are there more verifieds?
How can one access a private tracker?
Are torrents on private trackers specifically made to access a private trackers?
What is the purpose of having private trackers? Isn't it better to keep all trackers open to the public?

A Private tracker is a tracker that is closed for sign ups usually meaning only invitations or limited sign ups. It provides better security from people from the MPAA or RIAA. Consult the what invites are worth thread and you can see.

The private trackers also provide better speeds and better torrents. They assure that people seed the torrents to assure more seeders and longer life of the torrents on the tracker as well. They aslo have good comunities and hard to find material.

Thanks.
Do you have a link to the thread?

How exactly do they work?
Do you get an invitation so some website?
Then in the website, they will have a list of torrents you can download from the private tracker?
Or is there more to it?
I really don't understand the process. When I learn more, I will edit the first post to explain it properly, and others can check and see if there are any mistakes.

The private tracker are just like the public ones. The only difference is you have to sign in to them. You have to keep good ratios on them as well (Seed what you Leech) Invites are given away all the time here. Sometimes the trackers will open for signups. <--------- There is a thread for this as well. There is nothing different about the process on the private trackers, except keeping your torrents seeding to assure you keep a 1 to 1 ratio or higher.

The thread is a sticky in the BitTorrent Invites Section. Assuming you've been here 30 days, you should be able to access that section.

A good open signup site is BS (http://bitsoup.org/). Click on the signup link.

You're also assigned a personal passcode, which is associated with each torrent file you download. This way you can't post the torrent file to other trackers.

Hope this helps, and good idea on starting a guide.

Thanks. I signed up for that. Couldn't really understand much.
So basically, a private tracker is belongs to a specific website. You sign in the website, and you get torrents from the website. When you start the torrent, it will access a private tracker instead of the normal trackers. Then it will proceed to download the file. You just have to make sure you are uploading a minimum amount as well. If you do not, your download will cease.

Is this in any way accurate?

Pretty much bud. Just try to keep a good ratio on a few like BS and midnight torrents. great sites to get you started and figure out the best ways to get your ratio up. Once you play with those... Then just look on here and see if you can pick up a couple of invites to better sites.

well, you should consider website=tracker in most of the cases, so private tracker=private site=site you need to log on. simple as that :D
site address is written into *.torrent file you downloaded so your torrent application sends your dl/ul data to tracker, that keeps track of your ratio and rewards you or punishes you accordingly...
