How much space dust falls to Earth each year?

Estimates vary, but the USGS says at least 1,000 million grams, or roughly 1,000 tons of material enters the atmosphere every year and makes its way to Earths surface. One group of scientists claims microbes rain down from space, too, and that extraterrestrial organisms are responsible for flu epidemics. There's been no proof of this, and I'm not holding my breath.

Nice to know

Well since flu can alter its shape so the immune system can no longer recognise it....it is then like no other virus. This is the reason they say flu is from outer space.

Can't other viruses mutate?

Can't other viruses mutate?

Well not as spontaneously as flu virus. The flu virus changes form every year which is why you can catch it over and over again. This is why each year you need a new vaccination. Imagine you had chicken pox caused by virus....you wont get it again because as soon as your immune system sees the same virus it will kill it off. But i doubt that there is another virus that can mutate like flu. Perhaps the different types of virus are due to slow mutations over the years from a single virus who knows?

Have you ever gone outside at night to relax. No lights, some music, :music: maybe a telescope and some chips. :eat: I find it so relaxing to kinda "camp" outside at night just to watch the stars for a few minutes. I've noticed some, I guess :eyebrows: debris, like watching sparks just fall.
