bfg 7800gs no picture with my dell dimension 8300

bought the card new, I had an x1600 pro in it and everything worked fine. Needed a new card for vanguard and 7800gs looked like best bet.

take old card out and put in new card and monitor shows no picture.
ran driver cleaner - didnt help
Tried unplugging everything to see if my psu was problem - no help


got one response on the dell forums from some guy saying that bfg cards have problems with my machine, but that sounds pretty weird to me.

Anyone have any ideas

sorry, but ur not going to be able to make that card work. the bios' on the video card and motherboard conflict and that's why u get no video. ur gonna have to go with ati kid if u want equivalent power. 1950pro by his with iceq3 is prob ur best bet.

Do you know if the pc is booting properly even though you have no picture? Have you made sure the videocard is properly seated in the PCI-E slot?

Yes its booted properly, but its a agp card. Damn guess ill have to sell this one and get a ati :0
