i've had Vista installed for a week now and have tested many programs and have used the OS for everything as it is my primary OS. mind u i still have WinXP SP2 (dual boot) still installed for my games. i have yet to try any games out on Vista.

i know that games do play, but just not as well as in XP. EVERYONE has the same issues. so, until i play games on vista this thread is primarily for appz. unless others, including myself, have tested games on it and can verify the differences between the two (WinXP & Vista) OS's.

(some of these are obvious)

18. Nero Burning Rom 7.7.5.1 Ultra Vista Enchanced Edition
19. Diskeeper 2007 (ver. 11) build 697 Vista Edition
20. Driver Cleaner Pro 1.5 (cleaning may need some work. maybe an update is needed for this prog?)
21. Adobe Acrobat Reader 8 (there's a work around, but it installs)
22. nVidia Forceware Vista 64bit 100.65 WHQL (lost 1,000 points compared to XP)(no overlay)
23. Kazaa Lite Mega Codec Pack 1.67

05. Aquamark3 (dx9 program)
06. AVG Free Anti-Virus 7.5
07. nVidia Forceware Vista 64bit 101.41 WHQL (lost 1,000 points compared to XP)(has OVERLAY!, but driver has an issue where it stops responding)

Will update the list as time goes by and i've used more programs and/or games.

list is wrong. i just skimmed thru it and klmcp does not completely work and diskeeper does not work at all. so, i'm sure more on that list aren't compatible. i'll look thru it more later.

edit: maybe they meant build 697? either way, i know dk10 don't work. i've tried and went to their site and they even said it's not supported.

So you can't get MKV or OGM files to play at all? That's just through Media Player Classic w/ the KLite codec pack installed right?

What about CCCP (http://www.cccp-project.net/), then?

no, they played just fine. just windows aero would get disabled EVERYTIME u watch said file format.

klmcp 1.66 fixes this!

meh, i prefer klmcp more. besides, klmcp gets updated faster, better and i'm also a fanboy. :)

for vista 32 bit

Symantec 10.2.0.276 works for vista
Office 2007 obviously works nice, and is way better than I thought it would be.
ATI catalyst 7.2 for vista (not in beta anymore, woohoo)

So.....what should I do as far as installing the klite mega codec pack? Does it work perfectly now?

how's the compatibility on those? do those cum with all the options that the winxp versions have? have u benchmarked ur pc with these drivers?

yeah, the klmcp 1.66 works fairly good. u can install it. only problem i have found "so far" is with gspot. if u don't use that tool or it doesn't bother u that it's not 100% compatible then go ahead. gspot is still usable. it just "crashes" once and then it works. all codecs work properly and other than the gspot problem everything functions as it's supposed to.
