In its ongoing battle of futility against file sharing, the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) has published a list of the academic institutions that the organization has deemed as the top offenders when it comes to sharing music over a peer-to-peer connection.
In total, the RIAA (http://www.riaa.org/) sent out over 14,500 copyright infringement notices during the last academic year, with Ohio University topping the list at 1,287 letters – accounting for nearly ten percent of the alleged illegal music sharing.

Most of the schools in the top 25 are centered within the Midwest, with a few scattered throughout the Northeastern parts of the United States. In fact, west coast universities are completely absent from the list.
Maybe they’re just better at not getting caught.
Anyway, I’ll go ahead and end the suspense and let you check out the copyright infringement notices handed out during 2006 - 2007 academic year for yourself:

At MIT? I doubt it, they probably created a SSL FTP server bundled with anonymous features :P.

Or they probably have good crackers and thus have scene access and share that way :shifty:.

When I was at school we had a nice LAN sharing network. Didn't last long though due to "P2P Lamers" :P. We were forced to shut it down before any of the "Authorities" would find out
