What is your download speed?

Well VB's thread is over 4 years old and the poll is closed anyway (and it had turned pretty much into a n00b-magnet). The poll results would be irrelevant now and many people who had originally posted to it have changed their ISP or package so I'm reviving it to make it current.

You don't need to post a comment but if you want to I'd appreciate it if you avoided spamming with just on 1mbps or something... tell us who your ISP is as well, or whatever.

I could give you a link so you could test my upload speed which is quite fast, by present day standards, using a measured test file of 32 MBs.. It should max most members bandwidth out, for those whom it doesn't, please pm me if you wish to run a dedicated server ;)

I'm kind of out of luck where I live. The absolute fastest available to me is 3mbps down and 256kbps up. However, I often download from my schools T3 connection which has over 12mbps down ad 6 up.

Im all the way here in the very unlucky south africa..

4meg down / 384K upload not uncapped only with a 3gig cap, i pay R1000 +- 70 pounds or +- 166 Dolars. For uncapped i would have to pay double and the uncapped is limmited to 1meg download speed and shaped during the day time..

We do however have a couple local torrent sites (2) LOL that have okay speeds and get the files pretty fast. We also have 1 news server, which first has to cached the file you are downloading, so this takes a while.. Once the file is cached and another person downloads it they get full speed..
