i have had it for about a month and want to overclock it. i mean its an awesome processor but just wanting to overclock it to see what performance tweaks in overclocking it has from the original 2000mhz clock. i was wondering if i should overclock in steps by like 1mhz at a time? 3-5mhz at a time? 20? idk. my friend has a 1.4ghz computer not sure of the mobo and everything but he said he overclocked his by 100mhz a time and got up to 1.9 but had to go back down because it went unstable after a couple hours. i have the venice core (939) with biostar Ge-Force 6100-m9 motheroard with an extra cooling fan.

I had the same processor about a year ago.

I had a POS mobo with limited OC abilities, and I managed to OC to 2.4ghz easily with 35C underload with 2.5-3-3-7 one GB RAM.

It all depends, but it should be safe to jump to 2.2ish with relative safety. Then work your way up slowly.

Just my suggestion, not responsible if you burn ur cpu or something:pinch:

that chip is a shit oc'er and depending on ur ram. the increase in ur performance from what u'd get with said cpu u'll end up losing with ur ram from the divider. on air i'm sure the best u "mite" get is a 400mhz gain. which mite sound good for an amd, but with crap ram ur doing urself no justice. i know a lot of this doesn't answer ur questions, but what's ur setup?
