Wmv Please Help Me

ive got like 3 wmv videos and i cannot get them to play ive tried g spot but it doesnt do wmv ive tried converting in tmpengc but it sed unsupported ive tried watching in bs player windows media player cyberlynk power dvd winamp so now im reeeeally stuc it cant be that file coz there three different ones please help i only tried cinverting to see if it wud work theres gotta be a way to watch them ive got windows media player 9.00 can anyone help me at all??????????

Use AsfTools (http://www.geocities.com/myasftools/) to convert it to .avi.

tried it it sed it wud come out as only audio

Windows Media Player should play it. If it doesn&#39;t it should automaticly download a codec. If it doesn&#39;t you&#39;re screwed and the files are probably broken.

they related to each other? You downloaded them from kazaa?

ive last week did a clean install and system restore etc so how wud donig it again help its not gonna give me wotever i need that making things not play <_<

presumably these are downloads mate?

to be honest, if WMP can&#39;t cope, Id guess you are screwed to be honest...as a last resort suggestion, have you tried VDub/TMPEGENC? it might work, though, to be honest I doubt it :(

and just check WMP options has "autodownload codec" checked??

Two more suggestions...

1. Try installing Media Player 7. I normally use version 6.4 (just because I like that one better), but I also have version 7 installed in a different folder. I&#39;ve downloaded .wmv files already that will not play in 6.4, but they play fine in 7. Don&#39;t ask me why. :unsure:

2. Install Windows Media Encoder (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=e0ab51dc-e509-4bc2-ae47-507856f9ddc3&DisplayLang=en). It may install some new codecs, and you can use it to try re-encoding your .wmv&#39;s into (hopefully) better wmv&#39;s.

right i totalyy deleted windows meia player off and re-installed and that sorted it thanks for the help
