Hi, I have a few games my pc struggles with and stutters during gameplay.

I have the requirements and don't run anything else at the same time. For example, one game says:

SYSTEM INFORMATION:
====================

Minimal:
• Windows 2000/XP
• DirectX 9.0c
• Pentium IV or Athlon 2 Ghz CPU
• 512Mb RAM
• 16 Bit DirectX 8.1 compatible sound card
• Compatible 3d Graphics Card with 128Mb RAM and Hardware Pixel/Vertex Shader 2.0
• DVD-ROM
• 4Gb Hard Drive Space

I have XP, directX 9.0c, a pentium 4 (3.2E GHz), 512mb of ram, geforce fx 5500, dvd-rom drive and 4gb of hard drive space.

Any help would be appreciated. Cheers 3lions.

and be sure that your pc is above the recommended system requirements, otherwise, it might work but, as you said, it'll struggle and stutter during gameplay.

u are talking about a laptop? that GFX looks... hmm... weak, to say the least.
FX series of nivida sucked big time, but nowadays there are good AGP cards for a good price that would suite u well and give u major FPS boost on games.

How much HDD space have you free ? XP need 1,5 Gb for the installation + a minimum of free space around the hdd partition where windows folder is. Meaby 400-500 mb ? not sure.

Your graphic card don't help.

i have about 19gb free and it is a desktop pc. I am planning on adding more RAM (another 512mb) some time soon and maybe in time upgrade the graphics card. Any suggestions and prices for them?

When is the last time you defragmented the drive? When you install a game to a hard drive thats terribly fragmented you get a game that has to seek all over the place to run.
